Who is affected by this update?
All clients that currently utilize isolved Time and the biometric feature.
What is the final phase of the BIPA update?
On February 8, 2024, the next phase of BIPA functionality will take effect. As part of this update, templates for employees who have not accepted consent at the clock or manually will be deleted. This will apply to all employees, including those who currently use the punch-in system. Additionally, please be aware that after the December 15, 2023, isolved release, consent forms that were not uploaded due to a blank Clock Security field must be re-consented at the clock if they were not uploaded to isolved. This is particularly important for NXG clocks.
Why is the BIPA functionality going through this update?
In an attempt to protect against identity theft, many states have enacted or are working to release legislation to protect biometric information individuals may provide on a variety of devices including vending machines, time clocks, and security systems. As a result, isolved is requiring all users of its Time devices to consent to use the equipment using an on-screen acknowledgment each time the individual accesses the device.
Have questions?
You can verify your employee's consent status under the Clock Settings. Do not hesitate to reach out to your support team if you have any questions!
