How to Set Up Household Employers in iSolved

  1. When building the new Legal Company or Client, select Household Employer as the Filing Type.


       2. On the Tax Maintenance screen under Client Management -> Taxes -> Tax Maintenance, change the Status of all Federal Taxes to Block Tax Filing.


        3. Determine via the state website if the employer is eligible to have state taxes withheld and state unemployment on their personal income tax return or if it must be filed with employment returns. If the taxes can be filed on personal income tax returns, block the tax filing for state income tax and state unemployment tax, otherwise, leave them as Active. 

       4. Confirm your setup on the Payroll Summary. All Federal Deposits should appear with a #~ next to them to indicate the taxes are not impounded.
